(ABOUT THE FILM)
Glass River is a slow-burning mystery about memory, observation, and the stories images can preserve without fully explaining. Lena Cole builds the film around Porto's layered streets, reflective surfaces, and shifting light, creating a world where the past seems to exist just beneath the present. Photographic textures, measured editing, and carefully composed frames invite the viewer to look closer, question what is visible, and consider what might have been deliberately left outside the picture.
(STORY)
A photograph arrives at Inês's studio with no return address, showing a street in Porto she recognises from a childhood she rarely discusses. On its back is a date, a name she has not heard in years, and nothing else. Following the image leads her to a collection of unclaimed film negatives left behind in a shuttered photography shop. As she studies the frames, a familiar figure appears again and again at the edge of the pictures, drawing her into a mystery that challenges everything she thought she remembered.
