When his mother's final belongings need to be collected from a distant family home, Daniel agrees to make the journey north with his father, a man he has spent years learning how not to speak to. Their conversations begin with practical matters: directions, fuel, and where to stop for the night. But as the road stretches through empty villages and open Highland landscapes, forgotten memories and long-held resentments begin to surface. A cassette, a roadside café, and an unexpected detour slowly reveal the grief they have each carried alone.
